The Newcastle Team
| Some of the many generous residents of the Highlands At Newcastle community came together for the Childhaven's 4th Annual Tackle Child Abuse Auction with the Seattle Seahawks and the Seahawks Wives the night was a big success, the entire event raised an estimated net amount of $150,000!
Childhaven is honored to be recognized as the Ed Block Courage House in Washington State.
For more than 26 years, the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation has celebrated players of inspiration in the NFL while raising the nation’s awareness of the plight of abused children in NFL communities. Through the Foundation’s Courage House National Support Network for Kids, the organization has helped Courage Houses improve the lives of abused children across America. Named after the NFL team in a respective city, a Courage House is a facility that provides support/quality care for abused children in that community. For more information, please visit:

Newcastle... More Than Meets the Eye
This former coal-mining area is now a suburban, residential community, with a core retail area in the center of the city. Here you’ll find tree-lined, established neighborhoods sandwiched between new higher-end housing developments, all with easy access to Seattle, Bellevue, Issaquah, Renton and Sea-Tac Airport.
Popular recreational trails cross the neighborhoods. The city maintains 12 neighborhood parks, including Lake Boren Park, where the Summer Concerts in the Park series is held. Each September residents celebrate Newcastle Days, a weekend of entertainment and activities. |
